Lennart Ziburski made a design concept for a smartwatch. And he thought about it harder than just making a small iPhone:
And now it’s time for this basic concept of glanceable, simple information on your wrist, to take the same leap that smartphones took with the introduction of the iPhone in 2007.

Regardless of pricing, I would definitely buy this. Unlike a lot of concept designers, he offers a remark on this as well:
I believe it’d be very possible for the smartwatch outlined to be sold at a price point of $99.
A killer product in a new market, tangential to what they already offer? That sure sounds like something Apple would do.
